Artforum’s current “Critics’ Picks” for New York lists 7 out of 13 shows featuring female artists (in addition to 3 group shows which include female artists). That this occurence is even notable only reinforces the fact that there’s still work to be done in closing the gender gap in the visual arts; but however small, this is still a geniune victory for Linda Nochlin and the Guerilla Girls, among others.
